For eight evenings in November the centre of Eindhoven turns into an open-air museum of light. Artists project onto facades, bridges and the water of the Dommel, and the whole thing is one walking route. Free, outdoors, no tickets — you simply step into it.
Halfway round
That route is long. Reckon on five kilometres, in November, in the dark. Almost nobody walks it in one go: people cut the evening in half and go inside somewhere in between. Kerkstraat 3 sits inside the area GLOW takes over, two minutes from Markt, so it costs you no detour at all.
Three tacos and a margarita is the standard order and it arrives fast, which matters when you have half a light route still to go. If you would rather sit down properly, the ceviches are the reason to stay longer.
Worth knowing
GLOW starts around half past six in the evening and runs until about eleven. Streets in the centre close to through traffic on festival evenings, so come on foot, by bike or by public transport. Eat early and you are at the table well before dark; come later and it is busy in the good way.
