Carnival in Eindhoven: eating in the centre

Eindhoven becomes Lampegat for four days. Somewhere in there you are going to want something hot and spicy.

For four days the city changes its name and its rhythm. The parade comes through the centre, the cafés on Stratumseind and Markt run all day, and the whole thing is more of an endurance event than a party.

Something between the beers

Carnival is long, and the people who last are the ones who eat. Kerkstraat is a minute off Markt, out of the worst of the crush. Three tacos and you are back out there.

Worth knowing

Opening times shift during carnival — check the week on the site before you come, because we adjust the schedule per day. Costumes are welcome. Confetti in the ceviche is not.
