We are looking for someone to run the floor and the bar with us on the busy evenings. El Pastor is small on purpose: a short menu of tacos and ceviche, a bar that takes its cocktails seriously, and a room that goes from quiet to full in about twenty minutes.
What the work is
Taking orders, carrying plates, making drinks, and keeping an eye on the room — which of the tables is waiting, which one wants the bill, which one has been staring at the taco menu for five minutes and needs a nudge. You will learn our cocktails properly; if you already know your way around a shaker, even better.
The shifts
Evenings, Wednesday through Saturday, roughly from five until closing. Fridays and Saturdays run late. We work it out together a few weeks ahead, and we are used to fitting around a study timetable.
What we are after
You are eighteen or over, you speak Dutch or English well enough to run a table, and you stay pleasant when it is busy. Hospitality experience helps but is not the thing that decides it — attitude is.
What you get
Pay according to the horeca cao, a share of the tips, staff food on shift, and a discount when you come in on a night off. And you will actually learn something: the kitchen is happy to explain what it is doing.
